January in Prague

And here we are again, spontaneous trip to one of our favorite cities - Prague.
It´s cold January, but that doesn´t scare us to come here and explore some more awesome places this city has to offer.
And this is what we experienced - some new places and some old, good ones-

Pho Vietnam Tuan Lan

We choose this place for a quick dinner as it was close to our apartment we stayed at And when we travel we don’t make usually reservations for the first evening. It was a mistake, it was recommended and quite highly ranked at Foursquare, but it didn’t satisfied me. I didn’t like the fact that the food was precooked and not fresh and you could taste it, ingredients wasn’t the best either. You can’t pay with card there which might get you in trouble or left you hungry:) So I will not recommend this and will not go there again. I didn’t take pictures as it wasn’t much what to look at there, wasn’t worth it.

AnonymouS Shrink´s office

Our favorite bar in town AnonymouS bar opened recently their new branch - AnonymouS Shrink´s office - small underground bar for private cozy drink evening paired with cigar smoking. We ended up by chance here as Anonymous at Michalska was full and we didn’t made reservation, what a great interplay of coincidences which brought us here in private lounge of the bar, where we were taken care by amazing bartenders, which again showed, that they know what they are doing. The new tastes and combinations of their drinks made us stay there not just on Friday but we came back on Saturday and stayed until their closing hours enjoying their spell casting. If you don’t mind a smoking environment, which wasn’t as bad as in other bars and pubs - their ventilation is quite good – I will recommend to stop by.

Wine Food Market

This Italian market concept is very unique, you feel like you are at some outdoor market where you can visits stalls on the sides of the room. There you order and pay for food which you can enjoy in the middle of the place at shared or private tables. Its noisy as at actual market, you can hear piano playing in the corner of the room, you can look how your food is made with love - for example how they make your fresh pizza in oven, how they prepare fresh fish so it could be cooked for you or how the meat is waiting for it to be ordered and cooked freshly. If you want just small bites to eat you can visit next door shop where you can grab some antipasti, fresh bread or cakes and ice-cream and bring it to your table to enjoy. Awesome place to visit and absorb the atmosphere.

EMA espresso bar

We finally visited this place which we got recommended a year ago on New Year’s Eve, when it was closed and we didn’t manage to go there since. This time we made sure to stop by and it didn’t remain just by one visit. Their coffee is really excellent, we tried cappuccino which was well taste-tuned. The place is small and busy with many locals as well as tourist sitting wherever is bit of space free, the atmosphere reminded me on places i visited in New York. Service wasn’t very talkative or in good mood when we were there, but the quality of the coffee made us come again and when I will be around I will definitely go there to grab another coffee. Maybe i will come up with a way to make them smile:)

Mezi srnky

Another breakfast place which made us very happy. What was amazing was the service from the minute we walked in we felt very welcomed and taken care of. The place is tiny, around 20 people can fit there, it feels cozy and what I liked was, that there wasn’t a bar with service behind it, but you could watch baristas preparing you coffee right in front of you, like if they will be in their kitchen working on the counter. We tried their breakfast options and they were delicious. I will definitely come here again, we left happy with smile on our faces.

Next Door by Imperial

We finished our stay as usual with lunch at Pohlreich, but this time we didn’t go to Imperial but across the street to Next Door by Imperial. This place surprised us with its style, interior is well made, and especially lovely place to be seated is right next to the kitchen, where you can watch how your food is prepared, very fascinating. The quality of food and service is the same as by Imperial, you feel that they are taking good care of you and that everything is running there with style and ease. We left there again very happy and full and I will be there again for another Sunday lunch when visiting Prague.
