Italy-Jesolo-Venice-Treviso

I got to know amazing woman, which became my dear friend, Sona was living a while in Italy and when we discovered our shared love for food, there wasn’t a question to take a trip down to Jesolo with her to experience Italy in different way, she knows all the locals, speaks the language, knows the hidden gems to go to. It was short but intense gourmet trip i will remember for a while…until next time…I hope for next:)

Toni del Spin Trattoria

This was the highlight of our trip for me. Restaurant in Treviso, hidden from the main attractions offered the best Italian cousin I experienced on our trip. Place is not big and you can watch chefs preparing your food in tiny kitchen located in the middle of the restaurant. Menu is written on the blackboard and you get what’s in season. You don’t hear there many tourist all around you are Italian families enjoying their time out with good food and wine. I went for asparagus risotto which I thing was the best I had in my life and lasagna finished with homemade tiramisu, which is a must to try everywhere in Italy.

LaRomana gelateria

This is a branch of traditional icecream from Rimini, made since 1947. Today you can find many stores around Italy, we went to one in Treviso to experience it and is worth trying. You can find them worldwide also in Dusseldorf, Valencia, Madrin or Wien.

Trattoria Antico Calice

We spend one day in Venice, not so good idea as it was public holiday, so there were so many people I was trying to escape the crowds whole time. This restaurant is hidden in little alleyway so it was perfect place to get out of the crowds. Restaurant is traditional for its seafood, which my sister and Sona enjoyed. And they were so nice and prepared for me non-seafood dish also as I don’t eat any seafood. Place is little cozy and you can spot there many gondoliers coming for lunch.

Gelateria La Mela Verde

As ice cream is a must to have while being in Italy, even if you are full so you can’t move anymore, we were looking for one in Venice after our lunch, found this one on Foursquare with good ratings so we tried it and it was very delicious.

Ristorante Vecio Piave

Restaurant just outside of Jesolo is famous for its seafood, they offer local recipes prepared in the Venitian tradition. Restaurant is huge, looks like old brick barn, decorated in traditional way can accommodate 250 people. The restaurant was founded in 1950 but since 2007 is run by Castaldello family, coming from Riviera del Brenta, area well known for their excellence in the fish food cooking, in particular for the row fish food from the Adriatic Sea. Girls enjoyed their fish and seafood here, while I was snacking on homemade bread, crackers, baked seasonal veg, sipping my new “Italian favorite drink” sgroppino, alcoholic mixed drink made of lemon sorbet with vodka, topped with Italian sparkling prosecco. Love my life ;)

DallˇAva – dal 1988

On our journey to Jesolo we stopped in Palmanova Outlet Village as there is a nice prosciutteria restaurant which serves pizza, pasta and other Italian cousin, perfect place to grab lunch on the way.
Afterwards Sona took us in chocolate heaven - Lind shop, offering all types of chocolate you can imagine, but best was, they make ice cream from their chocolate which is awesome. So we had some ice-cream with espresso, of course as we were in Italy and that is what you do have espresso all the time. Espresso is served here instead of tea spoon with Lind chocolate spoon. You leave there with your blood sugar being on its TOP ready for shopping or the rest of your journey to south.

Sutto caffe

Outside of Jesolo is designer outlet Noventa di piave where we enjoyed one of our breakfast on our way back home. We stopped there for croissants and cappuccino and both of them were awesome, so if you will be nearby stop for a treat. They have fresh pastries, sandwiches, own production of wine which you can enjoy on their sunny terrace.

Pasticceria Teso

Couple of minute by car away from Jesolo on Via Piave you can find little family owned patissery shop where we were treated by Sona to the best little cakes, battered dough filled with amazing vanilla cream.
